Tagline: Ralph Bakshi, creator of "Fritz the Cat" and "Heavy Traffic" brings you the outrageous '50s the way they really were.

Plot: Adult animation director Ralph Bakshi (HEAVY TRAFFIC, AMERICAN POP) brings his New York sensibility back to the 1950s and the age of doo-wop, slicked back hair, leather jackets, gang rumbles, and sex in the back of tail-finned cars. Vinnie (voiced by Richard Romanus) is the hot-to-trot leader of the Stompers, an Italian street gang, whose obsession with his perfectly greased hair fades the night he falls for voluptuous young Jewish girl-down-the-block Rozzie (Tina Bowman). Unfortunately Vinnie finds his amorous intentions blocked by her overprotective dad and the neediness of his pal Crazy Shapiro (David Proval), a loudmouthed freak whose antics lead to continual problems, including an impending rumble with a black gang known as the Chaplains. Replete with rock & roll shows, wild parties, make-out sessions, and booze-filled New York nights, the nostalgic insanity culminates in a bloody shootout that threatens to separate Rozzie and Vinnie forever. It's a strange saga, featuring Bakshi's usual decaying urban landscapes and plenty of grotesquely exaggerated visuals.
