Plot: The "Beat" in the title refers to the 'beat' poets of the 1950s, in this story of the relationship between Jack Kerouac and Neal and Carolyn Cassady. Nick Nolte, Sissy Spacek and John Heard star in a tale of redefining relationships during the cultural shift from the staid 50s to the experimental 60s. Directed by John Byrum (1984's THE RAZOR'S EDGE) and written by Carolyn Cassady.
