Since the beginning of his feature film career, RAY LIOTTA has managed to burn indelible images into our minds. These performances --- half mesmerizingly demonic and half-noble, virtuous and heroic --- already seem to span an entire globe of human emotions and behavior.
Liotta recently finished production on Paul Schrader’s Forever Mine opposite Gretchen Mol and Joseph Fiennes.
Liotta was also recently seen in critically-acclaimed The Rat Pack, directed by Rob Cohen. This intimate behind-the-scenes look at four of the most famous entertainers of the late 50’s and 60’s examines the unique time in American culture when life in the fast lane seemed ideal. Liotta played the leader of the "Rat Pack," Frank Sinatra; a performance which garnered him a SAG nomination for best actor. The film aired on HBO and was nominated for an Emmy for Outstanding Made for TV Movie.
Liotta also starred in Phoenix with Anjelica Houston and Anthony La Paglia as well as Copland opposite Sylvester Stallone, Robert De Niro and Harvey Keitel.
Known for his versatility, Liotta has leaped from action hero to sensitive and vulnerable leading man in Corrina, Corrina to ballistically vicious in his feature film debut in Something Wild. He was deemed Best Actor from the Boston Film Critics and received a Golden Globe nomination for his performance in the latter film.
Other feature film credits include Dominick and Eugene, Field of Dreams, Goodfellas, Unlawful Entry, Turbulence, Muppets from Space, Unforgettable, Operation: Dumbo Drop, No Escape and Article 99.
The native of New Jersey began acting at the University of Miami. While there, he appeared on stage in A Streetcar Named Desire, The Taming of the Shrew, Of Mice and Men and West Side Story, among other stage classics.
After graduating with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree, Liotta moved to New York City and immediately got a job in show business --- as a bartender in the Schubert Organization theatres.
Within six months, he landed a role on NBC’s daytime drama, Another World. During his three-year stint with the show, he enjoyed immense popularity as Joey Perrini, "the world’s nicest guy."
