From film to television to stage, BETH GRANT's (Olline) diverse choice of roles and character portrayals has made her one of the hardest-working actresses in Hollywood. To date, Grant has co-starred in over 40 feature films.

Most recently, Grant played the gym teacher you love to hate in the critically acclaimed independent film "Donnie Darko." Prior to that, she was Mark Wahlberg's enthusiastic mom in the in Warner Bros. film "Rock Star." Also this season, Grant starred with Olivia Newton John, Beau Bridges, Bonnie Bedelia and Delta Burke in the Regent comedy release "Sordid Lives," written and directed by Del Shores.

On the small screen, Grant can be seen in the recurring role of Kitty, Mike O'Malley's mother, in the CBS hit sitcom "Yes, Dear." Additionally, she has starred in several other series including "Delta," the cult favorite "Maximum Bob," and "Coach." Her many television guest star appearances include the hit shows "X-Files," "Malcolm In The Middle," "Judging Amy," "Angel" and "Friends."

Grant's pilot script, "The New York Way: A Psychedelic Memoir" was recently optioned by Regency Television with Emmy Award winning director Todd Holland ("Malcolm In The Middle") set to direct. The half-hour "dramedy" is an autobiographical story about Grant's coming-of-age in 1970's New York City. Grant co-wrote the script with writing partner and NYC roommate from the 70's, Judy Nagy.

Some of her additional film credits include "Rain Man," "Speed," "To Wong Foo," "A Time to Kill," "Fall from Grace," "Dance with Me," "City Slickers II," "Flatliners," and "Lawn Dogs."

Grant's theatre appearances from New York to L.A. include two runs at The Ahmanson and world premieres by prominent playwrights Horton Foote, Romulus Linney, Maya Angelou and Del Shores.

A native of North Carolina, Grant was a real- life Southern Debutante, a page in the Senate, attended the Governor's School for Gifted and Talented Students, and was a governor's appointee at the age of 19. She recently received the Outstanding Alumni Award from East Carolina University (fellow former recipients include Kevin Williamson and Sandra Bullock.)

Beth Grant is married to actor Michael Chieffo. Their leading lady is nine-year-old daughter Mary Elizabeth, who is their best and proudest achievement.
