CHRISTIAN SLATER (Reginald Webster) made his screen debut at the age of 16 in "The Legend of Billie Jean," and has since none from being one of the industry's hottest young stars to a sought-after leading man. Following "The Contender," he stars in three upcoming films: John Woo's "Windtalkers," with Nicolas Cage; "Cletis Tout," with Tim Allen; and "3,000 Miles to Graceland."
He recently starred in the dark comedy "Very Bad Things," on which he also served as an executive producer. He had previously starred in and co-produced "Hard Rain" and the independent film "Basil." Slater made his screen directorial debut with the Showtime short feature "Museum of Love."
In addition, he has starred in such films as John Woo's "Broken Arrow," with John Travolta; "Bed of Roses"; "Murder in the First," with Kevin Bacon and Gary Oldman; Neil Jordan's "Interview With the Vampire," with Tom Cruise; "True Romance"; "Untamed Heart"; "Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves"; "Young Guns II"; "Pump Up the Volume"; "Heathers"; and Francis Ford Coppola's "Tucker: The Man and His Dream," as the son of Jeff Bridges and Joan Allen.
Born and raised in New York, Slater made his stage debut at the age of nine in "The Music Man," starring Dick Van Dyke. His early stage credits also include Broadway productions of "Macbeth," "David Copperfield" and "Merlin." In addition, he starred in "A Christmas Carol" at Radio City Music Hall, and appeared off-Broadway in "Landscape of the Body," "Between Daylight and Boonville," "Dry Land" and "Somewhere's Better." He recently returned to Broadway where he received critical acclaim for his performance in "Side Man."
