Dawn of the Dead Reviews |
With effects by make-up legend Tom Savini, this bloody horror flick really shocked the shit out of people when it was released, but today, movies like Dead Alive have out-gored it. Still, it's difficult not to be impressed by the over-the-top bloodshed in this movie. [read review] -- (eSplatter.com)
Notably, 'Dawn of the Dead' can be viewed as both a horror film and as a black comedy. The satire is biting and the characters are more than prone to spout out lines straight from commercials, movies, or other media. [read review] --Geoghegan (Diabolical-Dominion.com)
Out of the 3 living dead films this one had the best impact on me for one reason or another. I don't know why, but everytime I watch I just get a shaky feeling all over. [read review] --Zaero (Bloody-Disgusting.com)
Overall the story keeps you sitting in your seats till the very end, its packed with some great all time great scenes and does really entertain when on the best parts. [read review] -- (terrorwatch.net)
Personally my favorite of the Romero zombie flicks. With all the zombie entertainment, gore, and goblin music in the background, you can't really go wrong. [read review] --FrighT MasteR (UHM)
Fascinating and disturbing, intelligent and complex, Romero's Dawn of the Dead is incomparable--in my mind, easily the best zombie film ever made. Period. [read review] 98/100 --Jack Witzig (ColdSpot)
Decent follow-up to the excellent original is a bit too long for its own good, but is packed with gore and a fairly intelligent story. [read review] -- (TheVideoGraveYard.com)
