Michael Jackson tribute feature "This Is It" scored a solid $20.1 million opening day at the worldwide box office says Variety.

Domestically the film took in $7.4 million on its opening day including $2.2 million from Tuesday night shows. That's short of the $8.6 million that "Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus: The Best of Both Worlds Concert Tour" took on its first day, but that feature opened on a Friday.

Reviews have generally been good for "This Is It" which is expected to top the box-office over the Halloween weekend unless Paramount's sleeper hit "Paranormal Activity" proves more of a draw with audience after a spookier affair.
