Day of the Dead Reviews |
The whole screenplay to Day of the Dead was good, great even, but it was not as gripping as Night or Dawn. Leonard Maltin said that it was easily the least of the trilogy. I'd actually have to agree with him on this one, but I do believe that it is one of the best zombie movies out there. [read review] --Rivera (Diabolical-Dominion.com)
The film does, however, stand on its own in the series, with its own feel and atmosphere. It also does try to take the series in something of a new direction, examining the way the zombie mind functions, but frankly, I don't know how much I really care. [read review] --Jack Witzig (ColdSpot)
I could watch this movie over and over again just because of the dark elements. If you haven't seen this film you really should. It isn't as good as Night, or Dawn of the Dead, but it's worth the expirence. [read review] --Zaero (Bloody-Disgusting.com)
So while Romero and Savini are at the top of their game, the film does tend to drag a lot between zombie carnage, thanks to a lot of dull characters, and it just isn’t the comic bookish good time Dawn was. [read review] --Ian Button (Diabolical-Dominion.com)
This film has one purpose – to shock. And it does. I have never seen such gory death scenes in my entire cinema going career. When it was made the local abattoirs must have thought it was Christmas. [read review] 5/10 --Stuart Crawford (thefilmasylum.com)
Different from the previous two dead films, but definately not the worst in the trilogy. Excellent gore and a lot of good zombie-tearing-bodies-apart action. A MUST see for zombie fanatics. [read review] --FrighT MasteR (UHM)
Disappointing follow-up to Romero's action-packed "Dawn of the Dead"... It's a boring film, despite some mind-blowing gore effects by Tom Savini. No exploding heads though. [read review] -- (eSplatter.com)
Overall the movie is a good one and it is one of the great zombie movies made to date. Go check it out if your a hardcore horror fan, a granny, anyone will like this movie. [read review] -- (terrorwatch.net)
Talky sequel to Dawn Of The Dead and finale of Romero's trilogy is packed with the expected gore and is interesting enough to be watchable. The poorest of the three still. [read review] -- (TheVideoGraveYard.com)
Although not quite on par with its two sublime predecessors, Day of the Dead is an important and engrossing landmark of horror history. [read review] --Cortney Fusco (Diabolical-Dominion.com)
