What a year at John Hughes High! Our Wasp football squad almost went all the way - into the cellar that is, when quarterback Jake Wyler made an errant pass (was he blindfolded?) and Reggie Ray racked up his umpteenth concussion. Things perked up at a dazzling yearend prom, however, where conjoined twins Kara and Sara Fratelli were crowned Prom Queen...make that Queens!
Other highlights (and lowlights) of this eventful year included a nasty toilet explosion that 'dropped in' in the middle of Mr. Keller's English class, Ricky's pathetic "l0 Things I Love About Janey Briggs" poem, Jake's failed seduction of Janey with a human whipped cream sundae and JHH's own impromptu pre-prom musical extravaganza! And who could forget Janey's apprehension by police after Jake's moving serenade of Aerosmith's "Janey's Got a Gun"?
The big news: Janey, sporting her usual glasses, ponytail and paint-covered overalls and honing "her art" was the object of a bet between Kake and smarmy Austin that she could not be turned into prom queen material. One bodacious makeover later and...well, you how it turned out.
Some new faces decked our halls this year: Sadie, a 90-year-old undercover reporter, and exchange student Areola, who shared some of her valuable foreign assets with us. She's now firmly established as the object of lust for American nerds (Areola, not Sadie).
Malik, our beloved 'token black guy,' fulfilled his obligation for smiling, staying out of the conversation, and saying things like "Damn!" and "That is whack!" Catherine still hasn't gotten enough 'brotherly love' from her sibling, Jake. Slow-clap Guy is still trying to nail his timing. As for the pact to the sex before graduation forged by the freshman 'virgin posse' of Mitch Briggs, Janey's hormonally-charged younger brother, Bruce, a wannabe Asian, and the ultra-sensitive Ox...let's jest say things have yet to be consummated. Better luck next year, guys?
That's the latest from John Hughes High...See you next year!

When a popular jock bets he can turn a social outcast into the next prom queen, all raunch busts loose in this unrated, uncut and unapologetic hit comedy that goes farther than any teen movie before!
"Not Another Teen Movie is a big, fat, juicy spitball lobbed, with mostly dead-on aim, at the teen-smarm clichés that have accumulated like so much earwax over the last three years." - Entertainment Weekly

In his feature film directorial debut, Joel Gallen spoofs the ever-popular teen genre. The students of John Hughes High School live the plot lines of numerous teen flicks, including SHE'S ALL THAT, AMERICAN PIE, TEN THINGS I HATE ABOUT YOU, VARSITY BLUES, and SIXTEEN CANDLES, to name just a few. The most popular boy, Jake Wyler (Chris Evans) has bet his friends that he can make Janey Briggs (Chyler Leigh)--the poor, smart girl from the wrong side of the tracks--prom queen. Meanwhile, her little brother is in pursuit of the most beautiful girl he's ever seen when he's not getting into trouble with his geeky friends. Of course, a teen movie wouldn't be complete without a mean-spirited cheerleading captain, a lovestruck best friend, and a foreign exchange student, all of whom have prominent roles in the film. Throw in a few guest appearances from familiar faces from some of the best-known teen movies of the 1980s, along with remakes of songs from the same films--and even some word-for-word dialogue--and you have an amusing walk down memory lane for anyone who has a soft spot for THE BREAKFAST CLUB, CRUEL INTENTIONS, and PRETTY IN PINK.

Amazon.com Not Another Teen Movie hits all the easy targets until it finally becomes one of the movies it's attempting to spoof. But it's a painless diversion if you enjoy taking the low road for a few good laughs. With the exception of hailing John Hughes's 1980s teen-flick monopoly (including a cameo by Pretty in Pink's Molly Ringwald), the film spoofs subjects of a later vintage. References to She's All That, Can't Hardly Wait, Bring It On, and several others are whipped into a tasteless gumbo of gags concerning sex, diarrhea, Tourette's Syndrome, brain concussions, desperate male virgins, and token black guys. Ostensibly Not Another Teen Movie is about a jock (Chris Evans) betting that he can turn the cute-ugly duckling (Chyler Leigh) into a prom queen, but plot hardly matters when a firm-breasted exchange student appears regularly in her birthday suit. Five writers came up with this stuff; it's a safe bet they're still stuck in detention. --Jeff Shannon
