Hard-drinking, motor-bike-riding Rick Latimer gets thrown out of the upscale high school where he teaches after drunkenly trashing a car with a baseball bat. As punishment, he gets promoted to principal -- of the worst high school in the city. This is the kind of drug-infested campus where students carry weapons and teachers spend most of their time trying to keep their charges from killing each other. Before Latimer can bring education back into the classrooms of Brandel High, he must put down the school's number one menace, gang leader Victor Duncan. In the process, the ne'er-do-well pedagogue finds his own life taking a surprising turn.

Burglary. Drugs. Assault. Rape. The students at Brandel High are more than principal Rick Latimer (James Belushi) bargained for. Gangs fight to control the school using knives- even guns- when they have to. When Latimer and the head of security (Louis Gossett Jr.) try to clean up the school and stop the narcotics trade, they run up against a teenage mafia. A violent confrontation on the campus leads to a deadly showdown with the drug dealer's gang, and one last chance for Latimer to save his career… and his life.
Belushi gives a bold, gritty performance in this fast paced action film. Academy Award winner Gossett and Rae Dawn Chong co-star.
