Plot: A romantic fable from silent director DeMille. A proper British family must rely on their industrious butler to survive a shipwreck, during which the spoiled daughter falls for the servant. Rescue, however, means a return to the aristocratic class structure of England--a quandary for the two lovers. A luxuriously risque bath scene and a dream of ancient Babylon guaranteed this feature’s status as a classic. Based on the play "The Admirable Crichton" by James M. Barrie.
