Plot: Alec Guinness stars in this tragicomic film about a supposedly dying man's last wishes. Downtrodden salesman George Bird learns from his physician that he has less than a month to live. The doctor recommends George treat himself to a rollicking fun time before he checks out for good. George spends part of his life's earnings on sharp clothes and rents a room at a luxurious inn. Suddenly his world becomes brighter than it has ever been -- except now he only has a set number of weeks in which he can enjoy it. Or, has someone made an egregious error?
