Ginger Snaps Reviews |
Canada’s best horror movie by far, Ginger Snaps is the horror movie to see. A cult classic already it's one of the, if not the, best were-wolf movie of all time, it really is that good and it doesn't require any fancy transformation scenes or silver bullet shootouts, just a great story, great characters and a desire to make a really good film. "Ginger" was one of the funniest, cleverest and finest horror films of 2001. ... The kind of comedy/fear flicks that really needs to be seen with an audience for maximum impact, it was the most original genre film since "The Blair Witch Project." I dare call it a classic. Packed with lots of intelligent black humour and with two unknown leads that are very very good this is an engrossing and witty horror flick that's directed with kinetic energy and is original enough to be one of my most recommended horror films of 2000.The sarcastic script doesn't pull any punches and that's a big reason this works so well. The movie contains two plots which work together to make it enjoyable for everyone. It goes from a teen flick to a bloody disgusting as hell flick while you blink, with some extra little things that'll make you cringe.....a definite see !!! [read review] --Mr Disgusting (Bloody-Disgusting.com)
A comedy Ginger Snaps sort of is, bad it definitely is not. It's a well-directed and exceedingly well-acted thriller that interprets the werewolf myth as a symbol of puberty and all its associated fears. [read review] 72/100 --Jack Witzig (ColdSpot)
One of the best werewolf flicks that have come in a long while. Recommended for any horror fan. [read review] 8/10 --FrighT MasteR (UHM)
