Tagline: There's nothing wrong with being different.
Plot: This teen pic takes an uncompromising look at the troubles and "tragedies" of adolescence, when belonging to the in-crowd carries more weight than anything else in the world. Lucas, a nerdy 14-year-old, has skipped two grades and is having a tough time fitting in with his older classmates. The jocks make fun of him, and the girls barely know that he's alive. During the summer, Lucas's life is brightened by his new neighbor, who quickly becomes his good friend. Unfortunately, to Lucas she's a lot more than that, and when school begins again he realizes, to his dismay, that Maggie no longer belongs to him alone. Worse yet, when Lucas's jock friend, Cappie, stands up for him in a fight, Maggie falls for the handsome athlete. Filled with jealousy, Lucas doesn't even notice that there's another girl who likes him...
