Despite the ridiculous scenes with the policemen, not to mention the awful music, the movie still manages to impress. By all means this is a horror classic, a horror movie of true infamy. Track it down, you can't go any longer without seeing it.--Sonny Fernandez (Diabolical-Dominion.com)
While a bit dated in the dialogue department at times this is one Hell of a powerful movie. -- (TheVideoGraveYard.com)
Unlike many other films, this horror is grounded in a reality that is uncomfortably familiar. ... Overall, it is truly real. I would defintely watch it again. Ultimately, this is a horror film that will stick out above almost anything else you will watch.--Will Graham (ColdSpot)
Craven's directorial debut is one of the grimmest, most disturbing American movies ever made. ... "Last House" is Craven's most horrifying movie because it is so real, and will be remembered as a taboo-breaker far longer than "Nightmare on Elm Street" or"Scream."-- (eSplatter.com)

A decent watch if you're a Wes Craven fan. Wasn't too into the movie, because it was a little too slow for me, but in the end it's still not that bad. Not recommended. 5/10--FrighT MasteR (UHM)
