Kath Soucie in Return to Never Land (2002)

As one of the industry's leading voiceover performers, KATH SOUCIE (Wendy) can be heard in hundreds of different animated and commercial roles, most prominently in the "Rugrats" television series — as the voice of Phil, Lil and their mother, Betty — and such feature films as "Space Jam" and Disney's "Beauty and the Beast."

Soucie began her career in New York as a theatrical actress before venturing into several feature roles in episodics and movies-of-the- week — before initiating a near-legendary career in voiceovers that has now spanned from film and television to many award- winning commercials and the interactive arena over the past 17 years.

No stranger to primetime, Soucie is a series voice regular on the animated "God The Devil & Bob," "Baby Blues" and has guest starred as various voices on "Gargoyles," "Futurama" and "Duckman." Beyond "Rugrats," Soucie's lengthy list of children's programming credits include voices for Walt Disney Television Animation series "The Weekenders," "Pepper Ann," "101 Dalmatians:

The Series," "Quack Pack" and "Disney's Mickey MouseWorks." She can also be heard in "Dexter's Laboratory," "Casper," "Tiny Toon Adventures" and "Animaniacs."

"Wendy is sort of a Julie Andrews type," explains Soucie. "She's a lot of very round sounds, with wonderful playfulness and an inner brightness as well as the tenderness of the mother and her child. So you touch many different levels.

"She's so wonderful a character that you don't even have to memorize the script — you just have to know who she is and then the elements flow. As an actor you live for the moments when you're just completely not even yourself, you're really being the character, focusing on the thinking-ness of the character and her sound. Wendy offers that kind of experience. It's delightful."

"Kath has such a warm, motherly voice," Morrill says. "It's such a touching performance — she truly captures Wendy's gentle, comforting way of telling stories, and her final scene with Peter is an incredibly subtle, touching performance."
