UWE BOLL (Director) started his film career when he was still a child, producing a number of short films on Super 8 and video. Later he studied film directing in Munich and Vienna, writing his first screenplay ("The Trip") in 1987. In 1991 he wrote, directed and produced "German Fried Movie," a homage to John Landis' classic "Kentucky Fried Movie". He then went on to write/produce/direct "Sanctimony" starring Casper van Dien and Michael Pare; produce/direct "Blackwoods" starring Patrick Muldoon; and direct "Homeroom" starring Jurgen Prochnow, Maria Conchita Alonso and Clint Howard. "House of the Dead" is his ninth film as director. He is currently shooting "Alone In The Dark," based on the popular video game series from Atari, which will be released by Artisan Entertainment next year.
