Jon Favreau in Open Season (2006)

JON FAVREAU (Reilly) is a true multi-hyphenate. After establishing himself as an actor and writer of considerable talent with the acclaimed hipster comedy Swingers, he has continued to challenge himself with a variety of eclectic projects. Favreau’s most recent film was Columbia Pictures’ Zathura, a sci-fi adventure starring Tim Robbins, which he directed. On the acting front, Favreau was last seen opposite Vince Vaughn and Jennifer Aniston in the hit comedy The Break Up.

Favreau has also added the title of “show runner” to his list of credits, as the creator, producer and host of the critically acclaimed IFC series "Dinner for Five,” which recently wrapped its fourth season. The show was nominated for an Emmy in the Outstanding Non-Fiction Series category. In addition, he is developing a comedy series for Fox. Favreau is set to write and possibly direct the series, which will revolve around a New York token collector in the newly gentrified Harlem. Faizon Love is set to star in the series with Imagine Entertainment on board to produce. Favreau is also attached to direct three high profile projects: Marvel’s Iron Man, set for a 2008 release, Edgar Rice Burroughs’ sci-fi novel John Carter of Mars and Johnny Zero, a film about the history of hot rods for Columbia Pictures.

In 2003, Favreau directed the acclaimed holiday smash hit Elf starring Will Ferrell. Favreau made his feature film directorial debut with Made, a script he wrote and starred in opposite Vince Vaughn and Sean “Puffy” Combs.

In front of the camera, Favreau was recently seen opposite Kirsten Dunst and Paul Bettany in Wimbledon, Columbia Pictures’ Something’s Gotta Give for director Nancy Meyers and the Mark Steven Johnson film Daredevil with Ben Affleck, an adaptation of the Marvel Comics franchise. He also starred in a career-defining turn portraying legendary heavyweight champion, Rocky Marciano, in the TV biopic “Rocky Marciano.” Favreau's other feature film credits include Love and Sex opposite Famke Janssen, The Replacements with Keanu Reeves, Very Bad Things opposite Christian Slater and Cameron Diaz and Deep Impact with Robert Duvall, Morgan Freeman, and Vanessa Redgrave.

Favreau's television credits include a recurring role on “Friends” and a special appearance on HBO's critically acclaimed “The Sopranos,” playing himself.
