This was the third version of THE GREAT GATSBY produced by Paramount. The first was made in 1926, just one year after the book's publication; Herbert Brenon directed and adapted the book and Becky Gordner did the script. Warner Baxter played Gatsby, Loris Wilson was Daisy, Hale Hamilton was Tom, Georgia Hale played Myrtle Wilson, and William Powell was Scott Wilson. Neil Hamilton played Nick Caroway. The second version was made in 1949 by director Elliot Nugent.
