BRUCE WILLIS (Russ Duritz) has demonstrated incredible versatility and extraordinary talent in a career ranging from action blockbusters to romantic comedies, earning him international acclaim as a box office superstar. He enjoyed tremendous success starring in the critically acclaimed box office sensation "The Sixth Sense," The Walt Disney Company’s highest earning film for 1999, and the 10th highest grossing film of all time. For this role Willis received a People’s Choice Award for Best Actor. In 1998, he starred in the blockbuster hit "Armageddon," which was also Disney’s most successful film of that year.
Willis made his acting breakthrough in 1984 when he replaced the lead in Sam Shepherd’s off-Broadway play "Fool for Love." Later that year, he was selected from 3,000 contenders to star as David Addison in the hit television series "Moonlighting," for which he won an Emmy and Golden Globe Award. The popular series has enjoyed renewed success again this year, having been released on DVD and already becoming a top-seller.
He began his feature film career starring opposite Kim Basinger in Blake Edwards’ comedy "Blind Date." He then went on to star in "Die Hard," one of the highest-grossing films of 1988, which led to an internationally successful feature film series that includes "Die Hard 2: Die Harder" and "Die Hard With A Vengence." Willis also co-starred in Quentin Tarantino's highly acclaimed drama "Pulp Fiction" and opposite Paul Newman in "Nobody's Fool," as well as starring in Terry Gilliam’s "12 Monkeys," Norman Jewison’s "In Country," Luc Besson’s "The Fifth Element," and as the voice in "Look Who's Talking," one of Tri Star Pictures most successful films.
Willis starred in "Breakfast of Champions," based on the novel by Kurt Vonnegut, and also starred opposite Matthew Perry in the hit comedy "The Whole Nine Yards"—his production company co-produced both films. He also starred in the family drama "The Story of Us" co-starring Michelle Pfeiffer for director Rob Reiner. Willis recently completed filming "Unbreakable" co-staring Samuel L. Jackson and reuniting him with director M. Night Shyamalan, with whom he worked on the international box office success "The Sixth Sense."
