Plot: A woman, depressed over the recent death of her child and estranged from her scientist husband, finds herself stuck in her home with an incredibly sophisticated computer. Unfortunately this machine, called the Proteus IV and developed by her husband, has become virtually a sentient being with human desires -- including the desire to reproduce. And it has decided that the scientist's wife would make the perfect mother for its offspring...

 Pretty interesting horror film that was ahead of its time when it first came out, "Demon Seed" has the distinction of being the best movie ever based upon a Dean Koontz novel—and there have been some real turkeys.-- (eSplatter.com)
...this movie freaked me out now as much as it did when I first watched it at the age of 7. It's also probably a bit truer to life now, with how much we depend on technology to get by in day to day life.  --Hyde (horror-web.com)
