Greg Kinnear in Gift, The (2000)

GREG KINNEAR (Wayne Collins) most recently starred in director Neil LaBute's black comedy, Nurse Betty, opposite Renee Zellweger, Morgan Freeman and Chris Rock. Earlier this year, he starred in director Mike Nichols' What Planet Are You From, opposite Garry Shandling, Annette Bening and John Goodman. Kinnear recently wrapped Animal Husbandry, with Hugh Jackman and Ashley Judd, and is currently shooting Norman Jewison's HBO production "Dinner With Friends," which also stars Dennis Quaid, Andie MacDowell and Toni Collette.

Kinnear successfully established himself as a respected member of Hollywood's acting community with his Academy Award-nominated performance as Jack Nicholson's unfortunate neighbor, Simon, in James L. Brooks' As Good As It Gets. His earnest portrayal not only garnered him critical raves, but also resulted in him being named Best Supporting Actor by the National Board of Review and receiving Best Actor nominations from the Golden Globes, the Screen Actors Guild and the Academy Awards.

Kinnear made his feature film debut in the Sydney Pollack-directed remake, Sabrina, in which he co-starred with Harrison Ford and Julia Ormond. His performance in Sabrina prompted the trade organization of movie theater owners to name him NATO ShoWest's "Star of Tomorrow." He followed his role in Sabrina with subsequent starring roles in Dear God, directed by Garry Marshall, and A Smile Like Yours, opposite Lauren Holly. Following his Oscar-nominated performance in As Good As It Gets and co-starred in Nora Ephron's hit romantic comedy You've Got Mail, opposite Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan.

Kinnear first gained prominence as the animated, wisecracking host of E! Entertainment Television's "Talk Soup," for which he won an Emmy Award, rave reviews, and established an almost cult-like following. In 1994, Kinnear became host and executive producer of his own late night talk show, "Later With Greg Kinnear," which was a ratings success.

With his father in the state department, Kinnear grew up virtually all over the world. After earning a degree from broadcast journalism from the University of Arizona, Kinnear relocated to Los Angeles, where he now resides.
