HELEN HUNT (Bree) received an Academy Award for Best Actress in As Good As It Gets, a performance that also brought her a Golden Globe and a Screen Actors Guild Award. She won a Blockbuster Award for Best Actress for her role in the action blockbuster Twister and received critical raves for her breakout performance in the sleeper hit The Waterdance, which received the 1992 Sundance Film Festival's Audience Award, Dramatic Film Award and the Waldo Salt Screenwriting Award.
Hunt is probably best known for her role as Jamie Buchman on the long running hit NBC comedy series "Mad About You," which brought her three Golden Globes, four Emmy Awards, a Screen Actors Guild Award and three American Comedy Awards. Twice the Viewers for Quality Television named her best actress for her ongoing performance as Jamie. She was also nominated for a CableACE Award for HBO's "The Hitchhiker." She can be seen in the upcoming Castaway, Pay It Forward and What Women Want.

The daughter of director Gordon Hunt and granddaughter of Hollywood voice coach Dorothy Fries, she made her acting debut on television's "Pioneer Women" in 1973. She has appeared in 15 television features including: CBS' "In the Company of Darkness," "Bill: On His Own," NBC's "Choices of the Heart," "Murder in New Hampshire: The Pamela Smart Story," "Into the Badlands" and "The Miracle of Kathy Miller." Aside from "Mad About You," she was a regular on three television series including a two-year stint on "St. Elsewhere" and guest appearances on the critically acclaimed series "China Beach." She starred in the PBS American Playhouse series "Land of the Rain" and the ABC series "My Life and Times."
She has also starred on Broadway in the Lincoln Center production of "Twelfth Night." Her other stage credits include: "Been Taken," Broadway's "Our Town" and "Taming of the Shrew."
