In closing, I've simply got to say what a fine film this is - both in plot and cinematic merit. The film works as a horrifying tale of the unknown, but also shows us that it doesn't take millions to make a truly scary film. It's already gone down in culthistory, but I hope that 'The Blair Witch Project' continues its fame well into the next century - scaring generations of viewers for years to come.--Ted Geoghegan (Diabolical-Dominion.com)
The Blair Witch Project's use of the "less is more" philosophy of cinema is staggeringly successful here, for this would have been a ridiculously hammy movie if the terror-in-the-woods was uncovered for all to see. The film allows the viewers to imagine their own terror, which is undoubtedly a more terrifying one than could ever be put onto celluloid.--Cortney Fusco (Diabolical-Dominion.com)
Still while you're watching this you may have a lot of indifferent feelings towards it, be it because of its lack of a steady plot or when certain events don't ring 'true', but it's still a darkly spooky tale that doesn't need elaborate effects or non-stop action to work. -- (TheVideoGraveYard.com)
I was, however, completely engrossed. Even though I knew things were going to end badly (we're told that from the beginning), the film kept me wondering what was going to happen next. ... It fucked me up. 83/100--Jack Witzig (ColdSpot)
