Blade II Reviews

external linkBlade 2 is a film that you walk in expecting a good a time, and that's exactly what I was anticipating; nothing but mindless fun. The opening scene had good encouragement toward that factor, as it doesn't take long before the first big exciting fights take place, but after that the film loses its touch for a long period of time, making a come-back at the end with an exhilarating concluding twenty or so minutes. external linkI want to fashion a black leather jacket out of a bath towel and bounce off the couch cushions, swinging a broomstick at imaginary bloodsuckers until my fingers bleed. I hate vampires, and The Orange fantasizes about killing them each and everyday. This movie is my vicarious drug. [read review] 5/5

external linkHaving director Guillermo Del Toro helps as he's quite a visual pro (there's some really striking shots here) and there's some cool effects (I love the splitting face of the 'Reapers'); but it seems they've gone and created their own vampire 'universe' only I just don't find it that interesting. ... If you liked the original it's more of the same - I myself found it mostly passable. [read review] 2/4

external linkA sequel that stands perfectly well on its own, this benefits greatly from the presence of Mexican horror maestro director Guillermo del Toro, delivering action, blood, gore and guts in crowd-pleasing fashion. [read review] 4/5

external linkOverall, I really had a great time watching the film, and think it was done very well. I highly recommend checking this flick out, it holds it own and entertains from start to finish. [read review] 3.5/5

external linkNot as good as the first movie, but was still enjoyable. The special effects were good, but unneeded in parts. Check this out if you're a fan of Blade. [read review] 7/10

external link"Blade 2" is nonetheless a major triumph, combining martial arts, horror, and comic books into a film that doesn't let up for a second. [read review]

external linkA story that's got some floors but in the whole it flows nicely, twisting and turning frequently without losing the audience. [read review] 6/10

external linkNo amount of blood and disintegrating vampire cadavers can obscure this movie’s lack of ideas. [read review] 53/100
