GREGORY POIRIER (Writer/Director) most recently wrote the screenplay for the dark thriller Gossip starring James Marsden and Kate Hudson. He makes his feature directorial debut on Tomcats.
Originally from Maui, Hawaii, Poirier wrote several feature films, including The Stranger, which he also co-produced. Poirier’s next project was the critically acclaimed historical drama Rosewood, starring Jon Voight and Ving Rhames. He was awarded the Paul Selvin Award by the Writer’s Guild of America for that screenplay.
Poirier began his career in theater where he wrote and directed numerous local theatrical productions including "Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf," "Cloud Nine," "The Glass Menagerie" and "Brighton Beach Memoirs," among others.
Poirier is a graduate of USC and UCLA’s Film School. He currently resides in Santa Monica with his wife and two kids and is a hard-core blues fan.
