The film takes Lovecraft's necrophilia and dime-story philosophy and dunks it in a tank of hard-core visual obscenity. ''Beyond Re-Animator'' suggests what porn might be like if it existed only to make you feel viciously ill. --Wesley Morris (Boston Globe)
There's no denying that Beyond Re-Animator is incredibly silly and over-the-top, but it can also be tremendously entertaining at times - particularly in the last half hour, which is certainly the highlight of the film. --David Nusair (Reel Film Reviews)
Is this a slasher film? Hell yes! It's got gore, violence, gallons and gallons of blood. Not to mention the gratuitous nudity that all these types of films rely on. The best part is the comedy that you see tossed in all through the film.-- (eFilmCritic.com)
The biggest problem with the film is the fact that it can never find that fine line that the original Re-Animator walked so well. That movie was able to find that delicate balance between humor and horror. This one goes right over the line into pure silliness, with only the gore to move it along.--Sonny Fernandez (Diabolical-Dominion.com)
A good rent and a decent watch for fans of the previous movies. A nice amount of gore, but the comedy and story could have used more work. Worth a watch at least once. 6/10-- (UHM)
If you love the first two movies then there's no reason you shouldn't enjoy this one too - it's demented enough to please anyone wanting to see the continuing adventures of a one Dr. Herbert West. Be sure to stick around during the end credits for one of the funniest moments in the series history. -- (TheVideoGraveYard.com)
Yes, it's all pretty gruesome (and thankfully free of CGI) but doesn't carry the bite of what we saw in Part 1. "Beyond Re-Animator" is an example of Yuzna being mediocre.-- (eSplatter.com)
