Plot: IN THEATRES: SEPTEMBER 26, 2003Don Coscarelli's BUBBA HO-TEP finds Elvis Presley (Bruce Campbell) alive but not so well, living in a small Texas nursing home. Although he's preoccupied with his ailments and his memories, the elderly Elvis befriends another resident, John F. Kennedy (Ossie Davis), when they both begin to suspect that their neighbors aren't dying of natural causes. Their investigation leads to the discovery of an evil mummy with a fondness for cowboy gear and an appetite for the souls of senior citizens. Armed with little more than a walker and a wheelchair, the King and JFK must take on this ancient evil. Based on a short story by Joe R. Lansdale, BUBBA HO-TEP mixes comedy, drama, and horror to create a remarkably quirky film. As the aged and ailing Elvis, Campbell gives an outstandingly funny and poignant performance, while Davis exudes intelligence and warmth as JFK. Although horror is a key element of the story, much of the movie focuses on the life of Elvis and his new friendship with the former president, leading to many oddly comical scenes and even a few genuinely touching moments. Bubba Ho-Tep is a quirky, but strangely well written and well acted, little gem that is sure to be a cult classic among horror and Elvis fans alike. I’m sure some people will decry the lack of gore in the movie, some will call it anti-climatic, and some just won’t get it. It’s funny, it’s serious, it knows its audience and knows exactly how to please them.--John Dedeke & Jon Recher (Diabolical-Dominion.com)
...Bubba Ho-Tep was nothing spectacular, nothing worth yelling and screaming about. It feels like a drug overdose with some bland humor in it. The story is flat and moves at a pace that doesn't keep you in anticipation. --Mr Disgusting (Bloody-Disgusting.com)
A decent flick, but not enough goes on through most of it, which led me to give it a 6-rating. Despite that, it's worth a look if you're a Bruce fan or if you wanna check a cheesy horror flick with some funny dialogue. 6/10--FrighT MasteR (UHM)

great performance here and at times you can't help but to think that it's actually Elvis that you see on screen, that is Elvis if he were an old man. You definitely don't need to be a Bruce Campbell or Evil Dead fan to see this movie, it's just a very good stand alone movie. 8/10-- (evildread.com)
I don't think that I've ever been so disappointed after watching a film. I actually thought that I was in for something excellent but it turned out to be nothing but a slow-paced so called horror- comedy without any horror or comedy. --AnthroFred (SlasherPool)
