Army of Darkness Reviews

external linkDirector/co-writer Sam Raimi and his star (who's a longtime college friend) enjoy themselves fully with this sequel (which sadly sunk at the box-office) as they've made this more of an adventure movie than horror and toned down on the gore while they're at it. That's not to say it's not enjoyable, because I'd be lying if I said it wasn't. [read review] 3/4

external linkThe movie has an even lighter and more comedic tone than the previous two and focused less on horror and more on entertainment. Although it's my least favorite in the series, it still ranks high in my list as it's still a hilarious film with its blatantly obvious cheesy effects...If you enjoyed the previous two films then you'll defintely enjoy this one. external linkI don't think AOD is a bad movie it's very entertaining and just plain fun to watch, but i feel cheated so how for buying this version of the movie which differs in almost in no way from the cut version. [read review] 4/5
--Savoy (Bloody-Disgusting.com)
external linkTo call this movie a horror is a joke, Ive seen the care bears and thats more of a horror than this pile of trash, its a downright disgrace and if i was Bruce id Ive killed myself by now. [read review] 0.5/5

external linkIf you're a fan of the genre and missed out on this tame little film, rent the whole 'Evil Dead' trilogy, sit down, and immerse yourself. You're gonna be in for one hell of a ride... [read review]
--Ted Geoghegan (Diabolical-Dominion.com)
external linkNot a horror masterpiece by any means, but a great slapstick adventure film. Many people who saw it didn't even know it was a sequel to two of the sickest horror films ever made. [read review]

external linkStill, the action scenes outweigh the fluff, and I have a special place in my heart for that character with a chainsaw-hand that appeared in my comic book so very long ago. [read review]
--Cortney Fusco (Diabolical-Dominion.com)
external linkGoddamn groovy indeed. Army of Darkness caps off the only film series in my memory that not only explores new area with each film but keeps a stellar and unique quality. [read review] 90/100
--Jack Witzig (ColdSpot)
external linkArmy Of Darkness is basically just a black comedy so if you expect a lot of horror and gore you're wrong. This is just one hell of a movie. [read review] 4/5
--AnthroFred (SlasherPool)
external linkThis movie is the most slapstick horror movie ever. Unfortenitly that is one of it's flaws. [read review] 3.5/5
