Handsome Welsh actor IOAN GRUFFUDD (Lancelot) has played a number of dashing leading men in big budget TV costume dramas, most notably the lead part in ITV’s “Hornblower.” Since 1998 and “Hornblower: The Even Chance,” Gruffudd has notched up a total of three seasons playing the role.
He starred as Gareth Wyn Harries in “Pobol y Cwm” and attended the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts from 1992 to 1995. Afterwards, he was cast in the title role of the TV series “Poldark” and starred in the period drama “Wilde” and the Hollywood blockbuster, “Titanic.”
He played Pip in the TV movie “Great Expectations.” Other feature films included “Solomon & Gaenor,” “Shooters,” and the romantic lead in the liveaction comedy, “102 Dalmatians.” In 2002, he played Phillip Bosinney in a miniseries remake of “The Forsythe Saga” and he played opposite Stephen Dillane in the British-made horror film, “The Gathering.” His most recent film was “This Girl’s Life.”
