Any film noir worth its salt knows love doesn't miraculously right a world in which people lie, steal and cheat. It just gives the hero a partner in fighting that world. ``Fascination'' is foolish enough to want to be a feel-good noir, a beast that does not exist. [read review] 
There are numerous revelations -- so numerous, in fact, that the plot goes way past believable, and by the time Kelly says ominously, ''I have something to tell you'' for what seems like the 100th time, there's nothing to do but groan. [read review]
