Final Destination 3 Reviews |
...the film was pleasurable as I sat through it., the familiar formula was well applied, the grisly goodies were ample, the pace was speedy and the tension potent enough. But at the end of it all, it felt pretty hollow since the flick didn’t deviate enough from the series’ formula to leave an impression story wise and it offered up a group of generic, “this is how suits see teenagers” twats to pose as main characters.... This clan never bands together to fight the grim reaper, so the film is less about the legend now, more obviously an excuse for a strung together series of inventive ways to go. It's a surprise, really, that this entry is as much fun as it is, but trilogy looks about as far as this destination can go. [read review] B-
...is a winning purebred in smart horror writing, but extends its limits to the intelligence of the characters...There's nothing about the film that fully distinguishes itself from the first two films: same plot, same amount of blood, same teenage mindset. Just don't go in with your fingers crossed for a possible survival. [read review] --Phil Calabro (The Movie Insider)
The story was very good and did not copy the first one like the second film did. I like how they did a twist to the story and how the main actor sees the death happen...The film did not drag at all and kept the pace of the film and held my attention fromstart to finish and after seeing the film I can say James Wong is a great Horror director. With Final Destination 3, you pretty much get what you would expect. A cheesy teen thriller with lots of blood and gore. There's not a whole lot of surprises here folks. I'm not going to sit here and tell you FD3 is a great movie because it ain't. But ifblood, guts and boobs is your thing then this movie is sure to satisfy. [read review] 6/10 --Brendan Cullin (EmpireMovies.com)
I know the target audience couldn’t care less about the movie itself, but to get to the good stuff, you have to sit through atrocious dialog, amateur acting, and a snail’s pace, and maybe there’s 15 minutes of good material here. That’s a deal even Deathwould walk away from. [read review] --Brian Orndorf (eFilmCritic.com)
I can’t say the movie is a total waste – there are a few interesting moments and there’s a sort of economy to simply walking idiots down a plank in single file, to pay a very backhanded complement. At least the kills-per-minute ratio is high. [read review] -- (Bloody-Disgusting.com)
...does not try to make sense of it all; it only posits that death will happen. And in its quest to do so, it's barbed, brutal, and filled with cheap scares and stupid sentiment. In other words, it's refreshingly pessimistic. [read review] --KIM MORGAN (Reel.com)
...I think that while this entry is suitably creepy and outrageous, it should probably be the last one. As these three films have proven, the last thing you want to do is try to extend your life past its expiration date. [read review] B --Eric D. Snider (EricDSnider.com)
...is more effective than the previous sequel, and fans will get what they are looking for. Everyone else will wonder why one would go see this rather than save their time and money and just rent the original. [read review]
It is what it is: a fun time-killer that’s best viewed in an auditorium full of screaming fans. It may be horror’s equivalent of fast-food, but sometimes a greasy burger tastes better than prime rib. [read review] --Andrew Kasch (horrorchannel.com)
Enjoyable threequel which delivers handsomely on the demands of the franchise: an attractive cast, inventive direction, a dark sense of humour and increasingly nasty death sequences. [read review] --Matthew Turner (ViewLondon)
If you're a Final Destination fan, it's unlikely that #3 will disappoint. If you like horror/thrillers with plenty of cartoonish blood and gore, this will hit the spot. [read review] --James Berardinelli (ReelViews)
As much as this film thinks it is having fun, it isn't. It takes itself so seriously that it is just a sick, gory romp without the camp. [read review] --Dodd Alley (MovieWeb)
