Domino Reviews |
Watching Domino is an exhausting experience, and that's not altogether welcome. It goes beyond kinetic into frenzied, and Scott's inability to rein in his excesses is going to frustrate a majority of viewers. It's almost impossible to "get into" the movie, since the style is distancing, and there are no moments of quiet or introspection. Yes, the film is interesting, but it doesn't work. Like any failed experiment, it's fascinating to examine, but hopes to achieve something meaningful are foiled. [read review] --James Berardinelli (ReelViews)
Well, "Domino" is the new magnum opus. What Scott and his cinematographer and team of editors have done is impressive technically, but it only matters if it's in the service of a screenplay that deserves such attention. This one doesn't. [read review] --Eric D. Snider (eFilmCritic.com)
A decent flick that should have been amazing, but doesn’t make it all the way with a lack of focus on its main characters, a story that goes through too many puzzles and a runtime that outlasts itself. [read review] 6/10 --'JoBlo' (JoBlo.com)
Overall Domino is what it is, crazy, psycho fun. It isn't a movie you can enjoy if you are in the right frame of mind, but if you aren't prepared you may actually hate this movie. [read review] C+
Miscast, poorly written, over-directed and just plain stupid, Domino avoids one-star ignominy because it’s also unintentionally hilarious, making it a must-see bad movie. [read review] --Matthew Turner (ViewLondon)
There are some shocking scenes of violence, but by that time the film has become so over the top that there is an almost total lack of tension. [read review] 1/10
Who was Domino Harvey? Too bad the story of her life would be the last place to look for answers. [read review] --Brian Orndorf (eFilmCritic.com)
The story dosn't fare much better and it's way more convoluted than it had to be. [read review] 5/10 --Albert Koleba (thefilmasylum.com)
