Tagline: Your initiation into terror.

Plot: Shot on location at an early-20th-century sanatorium in Kentucky built for victims of the White Plague, this well-crafted indie hits all the right notes of Gothic, macabre terror. For a college initiation rite, five young women must spend five hours in the abandoned hospital--supposedly the most haunted place on Earth--but each floor is menaced by its own specter of the past. The only escape is through the tunnel that long ago was used to dispose of the dead bodies that accumulated in this house of horrors.

external linkThe cinematography made use of quite a few tricks – slow motion, fast cuts, kinetic camera action, flash cuts, use of archival film footage, flashbacks – that are amazing to watch. And even some of the footage that looked archival was actually just shot and processed with that sepia, damaged-film effect. 3.5/5

external linkThe flick was so damn flashy on all counts that it kept me out, hence not involving/scaring me as much as it should have. Although more gore and finer tweaked acting would’ve also been nice, I still had a Tupperware slaughter with this one! Its groovy happenings and hypnotizing aesthetics made sure to keep me my eye sockets on the screen where they belonged! A decent ride no gonna hop on? 2.5/4

external linkDeath Tunnel is a bad movie. Still, I'd certainly watch another Philip Adrian Booth movie, if he either wasn't involved with the script or had learnt from the mistakes so evident here. 1/5

external linkMan am I disappointed or what? What should have been a creepy and suspenseful ghost flick ended up in being a dull snooze fest which could probably only scare people who have seen less than 10 horror movies before. I'm glad that this didn't get a theatrical release because this movie just wasn't anything special. 2/5
