Ragnarok (Australia) | 05/19/2006 | Big hype, big dud.
If you know anything about Egyptian mythology, this movie is really bad. If you've seen any other movie in the past year, this movie is really bad. Sure, if you'd never seen a movie before, this might be considered interesting, but otherwise, don't bother with it.
There were maybe 3-4 human actors, the rest was computer graphics. Is it an animation or a human movie?
To compare this to The Matrix or The Fifth Element is like comparing a toilet bowl to a glass of fresh water.
The plotline was slow, boring, and hard to follow. The animation, while good in some parts, was poor in most.
The one thing I enjoyed about this movie was the soundtrack. If it wasn't for that, I would have given this movie 0 stars(although I don't have that option).
The leading male role(a Russian actor I believe, but I don't know the name), he played his part well. The blue haired woman played her part pretty good aswell. But from what I could see, the director/writer had seen Egyptian mythology, thought it looked cool, but never did any research into it. There was sex scenes thrown in, but this made the movie seem even more tacky, as if that was the only way to get people to watch it.
As a person that has studied Egyptian mythology for years, and has watched hundreds of movies, this gets 2 thumbs down(I wish I had more thumbs).
Feel free to watch it if you get bored, or if you can't find anything better, but from a persons point of view that knows both Egyptian mythology and movies, this is a waste of money to hire it. I felt like turning it off after the first 10 minutes, but watched till the end hoping it would redeem itself. It didn't.
