Though the film does manage at times to cultivate a sense of fear, it winds up being far too repetitious, and the shock value lessens after each attack. Far too exploitative. 41/100--Jack Witzig (ColdSpot)
If the film has any flaw, it's simply that it isn't up to par with other "thoughtful" horror films like "Rosemary's Baby" or, most notably, "The Exoricst," which obviously had a huge effect on the serious feel and mood of "The Entity." The ending also drags and, sadly, gets a little to Spielberg-esque. So it isn't a classic.-- (eSplatter.com)

With a nerve racking score, creepy ghost effects and a plot based on a real case. It has enough scares to make it a good flick to watch with the lights off. While some of the effects may seem a little dated, it's powerful visuals are still present. --Hyde (horror-web.com)
