A controversial political candidate is murdered. His deaf campaign manager is accused. Her trial becomes an event that will ruin lives and open old wounds and finally settle a few scores that have been years in the making. Despite scant evidence against Dana Sue, the local district attorney puts the popular woman on trial. Lillian Rose Martin, the most successful criminal attorney in the country is to represent her. Martin who has never lost a case, is about to be tested like never before, as her defense is constantly undermined by Dana Sue's refusal to divulge essential information in a desire to protect others. Desperate to clear her client she still feels is innocent, and despite all the circumstantial evidence that says otherwise, Martin shifts suspicion by making public Dana Sue's affair with the dead man's politically ambitious son. But the revelation of a shocking past event becomes pivotal twist of plot, proving that vengeance and deceit are often the result when murder, sex and politics collide.
