The Burning Reviews |
It's got a decent story, decent acting, creepy atmosphere, a great score, a good cast, fantastic effects by Savini, and Cropsy makes a great horror villain with his razor sharp hedge clippers. If you like these kinds of movies as much as I do it will quickly become one of your favorites. [read review] --Ted Geoghegan (Diabolical-Dominion.com)
The film had a lot of very cool moments, but so much more could have been done. ... Not a bad slasher flick. Definatelly a ripoff of Friday the 13th, but this is actually one of the better ripoffs. Try to catch this film UNCUT if you can. [read review] 6/10 -- (UHM)
A true slasher classic in my eyes. With a high body count, a lot of gore, a creepy atmosphere and a brilliant screenplay this movie goes straight to the horror hall of fame. Whatever you do, do not miss The Burning! [read review] --AnthroFred (SlasherPool)
Entertaining slasher flick is good of its type with some impressive murder scenes. ... Known in some circles as one of the gorier slashers, and it is, but at least it never seems to take itself seriously. [read review] -- (TheVideoGraveYard.com)
While the script hardly shines, the characters are slightly more defined than you'd expect. Of course, bloody deaths are this movie's raison d'etre and make-up man Tom Savini delivers in spades. [read review] -- (slasherama.com)
Of all the "Friday the 13th" clones out there, this is easily the best. In fact, it's a lot better than most of the entries of the "Friday" series. [read review] -- (eSplatter.com)
