Derek Mears ("The Hills Have Eyes 2") will reportedly play Jason Voorhees in New Line Cinema and Platinum Dunes' remake of "Friday the 13th" says Bloody Disgusting.

Ken Kirzinger last suited up and strapped on the Voorhees hockey mask in "Freddy vs. Jason". Jared Padalecki ("Supernatural") was cast last week as the male lead.

Marcus Nispel helms from a script by Damian Shannon and Mark Swift. A February 13th 2009 release is set.
