Synopses for The Santa Clause 2 (2002)
1.Scott Calvin (Tim Allen) found a jacket eight years ago that turned him into Santa Claus. Unfortunately, 900-year old elf Curtis (Spencer Breslin) failed to read the fine print in the Santa Clause and didn't notice that Santa has to find a wife or stop being Santa. As Christmas Eve--the marriage deadline--approaches, Santa finds himself slowly returning to his mortal appearance as the "de-Santification process" begins. To make matters worse, his mortal son, Charlie, is acting out in school and is on the Naughty list. Searching for a wife and worried about Charlie, Santa returns home as Scott, leaving a toy Santa (also played by Allen) in his place to run the North Pole. Unfortunately, the toy Santa becomes obsesses with the rules in the Santa handbook and turns into a dictator, complete with an army of toy soldiers. Allen is extremely engaging as Scott, a normal guy who loves his role as perhaps the most beloved character in the lives of children. David Krumholtz stars as Bernard, Santa's right-hand elf, and Elizabeth Mitchell is Carol Newman, Charlie's school principal and Scott's unlikely love interest.

2.Santa begins the search for the perfect Mrs. Claus. Scott Calvin (Tim Allen) has been Santa Claus for the past eight years, and his loyal elves consider him the best Santa ever. But Scott's got problems. His son, Charlie, has landed on this year's naughty list. And Santa himself is mysteriously de-Santafying.

To top it all off, if Scott doesn't get married by Christmas Eve, he'll stop being Santa forever! (It's right in his contract - the "Mrs. Clause.) Desperate both to find a wife and help his son, Scott heads back home, leaving a substitute Claus to watch over things at the Pole. But when the substitute institutes some strange redefinitions of naughty and nice -- putting Christmas at risk -- it's up to Scott to return with a new bag of magic to try to save Christmas.

3.

Considering how lame this sequel could have been, The Santa Clause 2 makes for a pleasant holiday diversion. It's got the familiar smell of Disney marketeering, and more than a few parents will object to this further embellishment of the St. Nick legend, but Tim Allen's amiable presence provides ample compensation. As a divorced dad who inherited the jolly man's job in The Santa Clause, Allen now faces another Yuletide challenge. According to the "Missus Clause" in his North Pole contract, he can't continue to be the real Santa until he gets married. As luck and five credited screenwriters would have it, Allen falls for the Scrooge-y principal (Elizabeth Mitchell) of his son's school, while a phony, power-hungry duplicate Santa wreaks havoc on the North Pole's overworked elves. It's all as sweet as spiced eggnog, with that warmed-over feel of a mandated sequel, but the Christmas spirit does prevail with the sound of sleigh bells and Allen's rosy-cheeked ho, ho, ho! --Jeff Shannon

4.Scott's world is turned upside-down when he's dealt a double whammy of bad news: not only has his son Charlie landed on this year's "naughty" list, Scott/Santa discovers a new "clause" - the Mrs. Clause. If he doesn't marry by Christmas Eve, he'll stop being Santa forever.
