Ghost Ship Reviews |
Director Steve Beck's sophomore film is an entertaining ride for horror fans with stylish direction, decent mood and some really neat effects sequences. Throw in a competent cast of mostly unknowns, a well-staged flashback sequence that explains why the ship is haunted and a generally interesting script and you have a movie that's better than expected. Although not quite as fun as Beck's last horror offering "Thirteen Ghosts," "Ghost Ship" is an entertaining, silly, R-rated horror offering, which delivers more of the goods fear fans want than most of the spooky films that made their way to theaters in 2002. [read review] -- (eSplatter.com)
Below-average horror flick that tails off after an impressive opening the leads do their best and there are a few good moments but its never really scary. [read review] --Matthew Turner (ViewLondon)
Worth a rent if you want a horror film to waste some time with and not have to use your brain for anything except to sit back and enjoy the show. [read review] 6/10 --FrighT MasteR (UHM)
If the rest of "Ghost Ship" were as good as its opening ten minutes, this would be a horror movie to die for. [read review] --Jamie Russell (BBC Films)
