Snow Dogs is not a fantasy about talking dogs--it's a heartwarming story about personal growth starring Cuba Gooding Jr. and a sled team of Siberian huskies. When Dr. Ted Brooks, a successful, sun-loving dentist from Miami, receives a summons to the minuscule town of Tolketna, Alaska, his mother is forced to confess that he was adopted. Teddy's desire to quickly return to Miami yields to a burgeoning curiosity about his deceased mother and biological father. Teddy's experiences in Alaska acquaint him firsthand with the wonders of sled dogs, the sport of mushing, human sacrifice, and love. The city slicker's hilarious attempts to mush even culminate in a hero's reception at the finish of the prestigious "Arctic Challenge." Snow Dogs is 99 minutes of breathtaking vistas, amusing comedy, and entertainment suited for the entire family. Director Brian Levant (BEETHOVEN) goes to the dogs again in Disney's SNOW DOGS. Cuba Gooding, Jr. stars as Ted Brooks, a successful Miami dentist who finds out that he was adopted, and has to travel to Alaska for the reading of his birth mother's will. There, he meets the small community of crazies that were his mother's friends. Barb (Joanna Bacalso), a beautiful bar owner, is the most welcoming. Ted learns that he has inherited his mother's property, including her team of rambunctious sled dogs. A crusty old-timer, Thunder Jack (James Coburn), tries to buy the dogs, but Ted decides he will learn how to race a dogsled, and enter the Arctic Challenge, a local race. Handling the mischievous pooches, particularly the "alpha" dog, Demon, turns out to be much harder than expected. Levant keeps the action moving at a swift pace, particularly during Ted's hilariously disastrous first run with the dogs. Gooding clowns like a pro, and Coburn is wonderful as the grizzled dogsled veteran. Kids will fall in love with all the dogs, who are given animated facial expressions. Nichelle Nichols (of STAR TREK fame) plays Ted's mom, and pop star Sisqo plays his best friend back in Miami.

When Miami dentist Ted Brooks (CUBA GOODING, JR.) finds out that he’s been named in a will, he travels to Alaska to claim his inheritance. Once he gets there, however, his dreams turn to mush: he discovers he’s been left a mischievous team of sled dogs – Diesel, Scooper, Nana, Yodel, Sniff, Mack, Duchess, and Demon – who have got it in for him. Making matters even worse is the crusty mountain man Thunder Jack (JAMES COBURN), who’s also got it in for the city slicker. Wanting to claim the dogs for himself, Jack urges Ted to hotfoot it back to warmer climates. As Ted’s life goes to the dogs, he vows to learn to mush, no matter what it takes.
