Finding Nemo Reviews |
Visually, the film is just as jaw-dropping as its predecessors (if not more so). From a narrative standpoint, it's not quite as ambitious as some of the earlier movies, but it has enough juice to keep things moving for 100 minutes. And, as always, the voice casting is perfect. [read review] --James Berardinelli (ReelViews)
But in the end, despite some great animation, a decent story, some witty repartee, chemistry between the two leads and a palpable resolution, I can't say that this movie was as exciting, original or captivating as many of its predecessors and would recommend it more to the toddlers (or the toddler in all of us), rather than us full-blown "adults". The humor bubbling through ''Finding Nemo'' is so fresh, sure of itself and devoid of the cutesy, saccharine condescension that drips through so many family comedies that you have to wonder what it is about the Pixar technology that inspires the creatorsto be so endlessly inventive. [read review] --Stephen Holden (The New York Times)
Hilarious, exciting and endlessly inventive, Finding Nemo is an awesome aquatic animation which will exhaust the adjective store of even the most hyperbolic film hack (ahem). One word just about does the job: genius. [read review] --Nev Pierce (BBC Films)
There is a story, though, one of those Pixar inventions that involves kids on the action level while adults are amused because of the satire and human (or fishy) comedy. [read review] --Roger Ebert (Chicago Sun-Times)
As usual in the Pixar formula, the plot is chock-full of narrow escapes and last-second heroics. But more than anything, it looks as if the filmmakers are having fun. [read review] --C.W. Nevius (San Francisco Chronicle)
...a dazzling, computer-animated fish tale with a funny, touching script and wonderful voice performances that make it an unqualified treat for all ages. [read review] --Lou Lumenick (New York Post)
In typical Disney fashion, this animated tale is meant to delight both adults and kids and comes with some life lessons wrapped in an entertaining story. [read review] --Paul Clinton (CNN Showbiz)
Its the brilliant animation and witty script that lift this film from retread material to sublime entertainment for kids and equally their parents. [read review] 86/100 --Brian Webster (Apollo Guide)
A fun family film which shows that even a nobody can become a somebody - but with a story that is all too familiar from other Pixar ventures. [read review] 6/10 --Anton Bitel (Movie Gazette)
Fin-tastic - hilarious, moving and beautiful to look at, this is another instant classic from the makers of Toy Story, Monsters Inc etc. [read review] --Matthew Turner (ViewLondon)
They've done it again with "Finding Nemo," a movie that plunges us into the colorful depths with the same sense of humor and wonder. [read review] --Ron Weiskind (Pittsburgh Post-Gazette)
