At this weekend's Wizard World convention in Los Angeles, Comic Book Resources learned that Samuel L. Jackson's not-so-secret cameo as comic hero Nick Fury may not appear in the upcoming "Iron Man" film in May after all.

Jackson definitely shot the one-day cameo as the eye-patched S.H.I.E.L.D. super spy, a fact confirmed by the star, 'Iron' director Jon Favreau and producer Avi Arad among others in recent months.

Where the footage will end up now though is unsure, but apparently it's being put to use elsewhere. The panel did confirm though that there is a crossover between "Iron Man" and "The Incredible Hulk".

Marvel is still very keen on Jackson in a "Nick Fury" dedicated film franchise, if only to wash away the smell of the 1998 TV movie with David Hasselhoff playing the character.
