MATTHEW MCCONAUGHEY (Ben) earned rave reviews and almost overnight stardom with his performance in "A Time to Kill," directed by Joel Schumacher. He then went on to star as the lead in Robert Zemeckis’ "Contact," opposite Jodie Foster. Next, McConaughey starred in "Amistad," directed by Steven Spielberg, working alongside Sir Anthony Hopkins and Morgan Freeman. McConaughey has his own production company, j.k. livin, and has projects currently in development with Warner Bros., Universal Pictures, Paramount and Imagine Entertainment. j.k. livin has already executive-produced the acclaimed feature documentary "Hands on a Hardbody," and the company collaborated with Sandra Bullock’s Fortis Films in producing ‘‘Making Sandwiches," which debuted at the Sundance Film Festival.
In addition to his acting career, McConaughey has also written and directed the short films, "The Rebel" and "Chicano Chariots."
