Plot: At the graduation celebration held at an exclusive girl's school, a uniformed intruder commits violent acts against the partygoers. The khaki-clad maniac impales his unfortunate victims with a bayonet. This masterwork of stylish gore is one of the most beloved cult slashers of the 1980's, and features a strong performance by famed actor Farley Granger, whose performance in Hitchcock's STRANGERS IN A TRAIN proved him to be a compelling horror actor.

An average 80s slasher with higher-than-average death scenes thanks to Tom Savini. Slow down in parts, but worth a rent if you're into slashers. 5/10-- (UHM)
Directed by Joseph Zito and with make-up effects by Tom Savini; this isn't quite as bad as some of the same type of movie coming out in the early 80's but it does suffer from being too cliched, the fact it lacks any thrills and that it's sort of dull with too much obvious talky padding. -- (TheVideoGraveYard.com)

While the movie itself is nothing to write home about, the effects Savini produced for the film were magnificent. ... If simply to witness Savini's work at the prime of his career, "The Prowler" is a must see movie.-- (eSplatter.com)
