Plot: A man who was previously abused by his mother takes out his frustrations on innocent women. He scalps them and uses their hair to make wigs for his mannequins. Upon its release in 1980 this film was accused by critics of taking the slasher film and its accompanying gore effects to new, unpleasantly graphic levels. Special effects were orchestrated by Tom Savini.

I also found it interesting as to why he does what he does. I was expecting a lot more towards the end, but it still didn't end too bad. One of my other favorite scenes is towards the end. I definately recommend this movie to all you slasher and gore fans. 7/10-- (UHM)
Washed-out looking production actually manages to capture psychosis pretty well and is packed full of over-the-top gore courtesy of maestro Tom Savini. ... Director Lustig's most serious movie even if it skirts closely to being offensive at times, this was completely despised by critics upon its initial release. -- (TheVideoGraveYard.com)
This really sick splatter film even offended some fans of the genre when it was released. ... Despite the fact that this film has its fans, it was pretty clear that the movie was really an exercise in gore pornography and was leading the entire horror genre in the wrong direction.-- (eSplatter.com)

It would take another 15 to 16 years before 70's to 80's horror fans would discover this film and spark a trend in watching what had once been called the "sickest movie ever made". -- (Bloody-Disgusting.com)
