An American Werewolf in London Reviews |
The actors are not all that well known but the performances are good. The make up and effects are brilliant and the humour is delightful. The fully changed werewolf is rather frightening and director has kept it as true to life as he can, making it believable yet shocking. [read review] --Savieri (Bloody-Disgusting.com)
This is considered one of the best modern werewolf movies and I have to agree since barely any similarly themed movies since have really worked. It has a great 'moon' themed soundtrack, above average transformation/creature effects by Rick Baker, lots ofmorbid comedy and some really wacky nightmare sequences. This is one of my all time favorite films, and to see it presented here in such fine quality, and with an abundance of supplemental materials, is truly a joy. This is one of those few DVD's that get's everything right, so get out there and grab a copy! [read review] -- (horrorview.com)
...shocking and genuinely funny—with an incredible oldies soundtrack —Landis' film is a horror masterpiece and he never came close to making as good a movie ever again in his career. [read review] -- (eSplatter.com)
Good story; good humor; sweet gore; werewolf running amok in the crowded streets of London; what more could you want? Definitely worth a check if you haven't seen it already. [read review] 8/10 --FrighT MasteR (UHM)
Classic to the bone the movie delivers just the right amount of blood and gore, but its will to keep the movie funny is amazing [read review] -- (terrorwatch.net)
