Plot: This adaptation of an H.P. Lovecraft story from director Stuart Gordon (RE-ANIMATOR, FROM BEYOND) tells the story of Paul, an American businessman (Ezra Godden) on a cruise with his girlfriend off the coast of Spain. ...entertaining, despite the plot-holes ... A movie that had potential in the beginning, but slowly started to fall apart. Had some cool moments, but was an overall disappointment. Worth a rent when it comes out, but don't expect much. 5/10--FrighT MasteR (UHM)
Sure it's a bit leisurely paced and certainly not perfect but Gordon still continues to be the best Lovecraft adapater around. A recommended break from all the teenage themed horror crap on shelves lately. -- (TheVideoGraveYard.com)
"Dagon" is Gordon's best effort in over a decade, but it's such an original film and so unlike the "Re-Animator" style camp Gordon is known and loved for, some fans may be disappointed. Once they get over the fact that this isn't a horror-comedy with Herbert West, most fans should realize they're watching one of the best horror films in years.-- (eSplatter.com)
The acting is great from all actors, but I suggest that you don't rent this movie; I suggest that you buy it! Because this is a piece of art, even if it does sound a bit cheesy with ‘fish people’, it's done in a very stylish way. --AnthroFred (Bloody-Disgusting.com)
