EDWARD BURNS stars as arson investigator Jordy Warsaw, who joins forces with famous homicide detective Eddie Flemming to solve a vicious New York City double murder in the media spotlight.
Burns was lauded by both critics and audiences for his first feature film, The Brothers Mc Mullen, which he wrote, produced, directed and starred in, and which won the Grand Jury Prize at the Sundance Film Festival in 1995. Shot on an astonishing budget of only $25,000, it became the most profitable film of the year - and went on to garner the Best First Feature Award at the 1996 Independent Spirit Awards.
Burns followed up with the romantic comedy She's The One, which he wrote, directed, produced and starred in with Jennifer Aniston and Cameron Diaz. He then wrote, produced, directed and starred in No Looking Back, which also starred Lauren Holly and Jon Bon Jovi. Robert Redford served as executive producer on both features. His first three screenplays were also published as Three Screenplays by Edward Burns by Hyperion.
As an actor, Burns most recently starred in Steven Spielberg's acclaimed wartime masterwork Saving Private Ryan. He just completed his fourth feature film as a writer/producer/director - Sidewalks of New York - in which he also co-stars with Heather Graham, Stanley Tucci, David Krumholz, Brittany Murphy, Rosario Dawson and Dennis Farina.
For television, Burns (with his brother Brian) is creator and executive producer of "The Fighting Fitzgeralds," a half-hour comedy series for NBC starring Golden-Globe winner Brian Dennehy. The series will premiere on March 6 at 8 pm.
This Spring, Burns will begin production on his next film as writer/producer/director/actor, Ash Wednesday.
